Has anyone had the experience with a stealth baby? My baby is 4 years old but I always manage to turn around and crash into her. So many times have I elbowed her, stepped on her, bumped her with my hips, and knocked her over turning around. She walks so silently and has to stand a half inch from me that I have hurt her several times just trying to move from one place to another. Example – taking down the Christmas tree. I ask her to help take off the ornaments on the lower branches while I get the upper branches. I start to become stressed not from the way she is taking them off but by the fact she is standing in front of me. From experience, this means me falling into the tree from leaning over her to prevent pushing her into the pokey evergreen spines OR dropping an ornament onto her little blond head. So I decide to pick off the ornaments on the lower branches. She can’t stand in front of me but she sure can be right beside my elbows. After a knock to her chin, I decide to step back and work on the garland. However, she decides to stop with the ornaments and help me with the garland. And once again she is quietly a half inch behind me so my bum bumps her down to her bum. After kisses on the head, she continues to yank off the garland. Once again, she comes around me with the garland pulled around my legs causing me to almost go down, catching myself bending over suddenly holding up with one hand. By this time, undecorating the tree is the most stressful thing I could be doing. Sierra is getting cranky because she keeps getting owies and I’m cranky trying to keep from giving her owies. So by the time I’m taking off the lights, I’m mad at the situation and with myself. I’m trying not to be mad at Sierra but I wish she would finally recognize that if she stands that close to me, she’s going to become bonked.
The tree finally came down and couches moved back into their spot, and luckily no bruises appeared on either one of us regardless of the close encounters.
